Goondiwindi Botanic Gardens

Showcasing the plant communities of the Upper Darling Basin

Set in 25 hectares this tranquil spot is on the western outskirts of Goondiwindi and is a jewel in the crown of the Border Rivers Region. If you love Australian Native Plants a visit to our Garden is a must for you. Here you will find hundreds of species of trees, shrubs, grasses and ground covers native to the upper Darling Basin, set out in plant communities around a central lake with an island in the middle.

There are shelter sheds, free electric bbq's, an extensive lawned area and fenced kids playground, the lake is very refreshing on a hot summers day and is great for kayaking and paddle boarding.  You can take your dog unleashed around the extensive walking tracks, or just relax and soak up the ambience of nature.  Bird watching is another popular pastime at the gardens.

We also have a pavilion which can be booked for weddings, christenings, family reunions, staff parties, small concerts - in fact just about any social gathering can be accommodated.
